Can this integrate with any POS systems?

I like the idea of this system, and even taking the automation a step further. It would be super convenient if the system could integrate with a POS system so that when a server puts the drink into the system, rather than printing out a ticket and the bartender having to find the drink on the Bartendro system, it automatically gets imported and the bartender can just hit a button to release the drink (when the shaker or glass is in place). Is there anything like this that exists, or that is maybe in the works?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Other people have definitely integrated Bartendro with a POS, for example these guys wrote a complete frontend for their application.

The integration is certainly possible for someone with a solid software background. Most POS systems are closed though, so it's difficult for us to determine the type and format of data that is needed. Which POS are you looking at using?

I haven't completely narrowed down the POS systems yet, so I was hoping to find out which ones might work with Bartendro to help narrow it down. Do have any recommendations on which ones might be easiest to pair with the Bartendro?

There's a sea of POS systems out there, I personally don't have experience with them so I can't make a recommendation. If there's one that you find that you like, let us know and we'll see what it would take for an integration.

At this point, I am thinking about having a custom POS app developed that can be run on tablets (that the servers carry) or customer's phones. Would it be possible to get access to the software that runs the system, or at least a little more information on it, so that I can get a quote on having such an app developed?

Hey Jeff, all the Bartendro software is here:

https://github.com/partyrobotics/bartend...

Specifically you'll probably want to look at the UI directory. If you wanted a browser based app (it could be made to be only available within your local wifi network) you could modify that directly. If you wanted to do a more device specific app (iOS or android) you'd trash the UI specific bits and make a web-service for your app to call, sort of an API.
